Hello all,
First, please note: NoteBook 2.0 runs under OS X 10.3 (Panther). As we mentioned last week, the software itself is complete but the 2.0 license key upgrade system is not. NoteBook 2.0 does not accept the old 1.x license keys, so as part of the 2.0 upgrade process you will have to "swap" your 1.2 license key for a 2.0 key. The swap web page isn't finished, and we don't have an ETA for it. Because people are eager to get started with 2.0, we're bridging the gap with a general-use temporary 2.0 license. This temporary license will let you begin using NoteBook 2.0 while we finalize the license upgrade page. So, without further ado ;-), here's the link to download the software: and here's the temporary 2.0 license key:
Please stay tuned to this forum for information on swapping your old 1.2 license key for your permanent 2.0 key. Thank you for your support, and we hope you enjoy NoteBook 2.0! Jayson and Elizabeth - - - - - - - - - Q&A What the heck is going on? NoteBook 2.0 does not accept the old NoteBook 1.x license keys, and the system for swapping your old 1.2 license key with a new 2.0 license key is behind schedule. Is it OK if I wait until the official license key swap system is in place? Absolutely yes. It's entirely up to you. You can use the temporary license if you're eager to use 2.0 right away, or just wait. If I register for a demo trial or purchase NoteBook before the swap page is up, will I receive 2.0? No. Until the swap page is ready, demo trials and purchases will still be for NoteBook 1.2. The swap page's appearance and the website's transition to vending 2.0 licenses will happen at the same time. How much does an upgrade to 2.0 cost? If I just purchased a 1.2 license, will I have to pay for 2.0? The 2.0 upgrade is *free* to all NoteBook users. When the swap page is ready, what will I have to do to upgrade to 2.0? Once the license key swap page is in place, you'll go there and enter your name, 1.x license key, and valid e-mail address. The website will send your new 2.0 key to that e-mail address. If you opted not to use the temporary license key, NoteBook 2.0 will ask for your permanent license key when you launch it — copy/paste it into the panel. If you're using the temporary 2.0 license, you'll choose NoteBook -> License Info and use the Add (License) button to enter your permanent license. Your permanent license will live alongside the temporary one (no need to delete it first). This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jayson Adams, |
